A Yes! of Browns

This week we had trouble my friend. Right here -I say- trouble right here in Sandy City. Car trouble, that is. For some reason my blue car wouldn't start up on Tuesday, and in the evening I tried again to get it started, and the next day Scott came over and tried to help, but we just couldn't get it started. I called a tow truck and they towed it to a repair shop and the repairman started it right up. He looked at everything that you would expect it to be (alternator, starter, battery, gas pump, electrical connections), but he couldn't find anything wrong with it. Since then it has run without a hitch, but I am worried about it not starting up in the future, so if anyone finds a good deal on a commuter car in the near future I would be interested in hearing about it. I have been working on making robots dance in my website. It doesn't work yet, but it is in progress. This week a German Shepard visited us.  We went outside during preschool/playgroup with Max and th

A Man Cub

Alison and Michael Brown (and Rea and Sara too) are happy to announce that they are expecting (or at least Alison is) a Man Cub of the masculine variety. He is expected to be joining us in the beginning of June. We were all excited to hear this (except Rea, whose first response was "but I wanted a sister!") Seriously though, Rea is coming around to the idea. She even has provided a name suggestion for him (two, actually). We are looking forward to the addition to our family, and hope to be ready for him before he is ready to meet us.

Alison wrote this post for me as I played outside in the snow and mud with Rea and Sara. They really love playing in the mud. We asked the girls what we should put in this week's post.  The first response: Sara loves oatmeal.  It's her current favorite word in any conversation regarding food, or to start a conversation about food.  (Rea was coughing and we were talking about good things to eat when you're sick - chicken noodle soup, etc - and Sara chimed in, "Oatmeal!") The second response: Rea played Catwings.  She likes playing books, and Catwings is a fun one.  Alison was having a nap while this happened, and when she came in Sara told her a long story about finding mean kittens that bit Sara.  I wonder what went on... A sickly sleeping Sara Rea and Sara are sick. They are both coughing and have sore throats.  This kept them home from Church yesterday, so Sara's first nursery day has been put off.  Rea also missed giving the prayer in Primary, but

More than a day late

I didn't post for on Monday first time in a long time. We have been a bit busy, but not that busy. For one thing, 1800Contacts is being bought out by an investment firm. People don't really seem to be too worried about it (apparently this happens all of the time with 1800Contacts), so I am following suit and assuming that it is business as usual. Sara and Rea have both been cleaning up the house since Alison is still feeling pretty drained of energy. They have been getting money to spend for their efforts (though Sara doesn't have any idea what to do with it). They both love Herd your Horses now, so it is a really popular game. We have two tapes of Veggitales songs, and Sara loves them so much that we listen to them at least twice a day. Mommy is getting sick of them, but what can you do? We went to an art exhibit and went out to eat afterwards. Rea was so excited about going out to eat that she wants us to drive down to Provo again just to go back. We have been

Definitely Not an Evil Overlord

Alison co-authored this post, (basically she wrote the entire thing and I added in stuff that I wanted to mention). We went to the annual Sumsion Family New Year's Eve party, where everyone is required to provide a (usually wacky) talent for the talent show.  Andrea and Sara sang "Away in a Manger."  Rea sang beautifully - she learned it in Nursery - and Sara belted random words as she saw fit: "Manger!  Jesus!  Sleep!"  She has a powerful voice for such a little body.  It was very cute.  Alison's talent was "lectures on behavior that kids actually ask to have repeated" with her Kimochis ; Mike's was identifying which child was tickling his feet with his eyes closed.  We all had a good time and let the girls stay up much too late, though not all the way to midnight. The next morning we went to a game day with Scott, Sheila, Caitlin, and Sal.  We played Dixit, Shadows over Camelot, Bang (as a [root beer] drinking game), Resistance, and Two R
